I live in the coastal Northeast. My rental row home is about 100 years old and very poorly insulated. If I get frivolous with having the house heated every cold day, it is not unusual to be looking at a $300 heating bill for 1 month. Since I work from home, 2 things I do to cut heating costs are using an oil filled portable radiator in my home office and dressing in layers. The layering is tricky because I hate bulk but I hate working when it is chilly even more.When I saw this item and read all the positive reviews, it seemed like a possible alternative to working in 3 layers of tights and pants, a few thermal undershirts and a down vest. The price was nice, too.This is a game changer! It's not pretty or stylish, but who cares? Only the cats see me. It is light in weight (as in it does not feel like being trapped in a suit of cloth armor) but long on warmth and coziness. I am 5'6" tall and ordered the "standard" size. It is roomy without being bulky, has side slits (with buttons) for freedom of movement, comes to just above my ankles and I do not need to wear leggings or long pants under it to keep my legs warm. It's soft and plush on the outside, has elasticized cuffs to keep drafts out, the lining is soft, fluffy faux fleece and it's got a big front "kangaroo" pocket as well as a self belt, which I removed. I wear bike shorts and a cotton t-shirt under it and don't feel like the Michelin Man, trapped inside layers of winter clothing. Sometimes I wear it while I am lounging in bed at night and it keeps me extra warm under the covers. The hood is roomy and also lined with faux fleece. My cats love to sit in my lap when I have it on.I am so glad I bought this! No regrets at all.This would be a really great gift for anyone on your list. Be sure to get one for yourself, too.
