Most of the time you can tell the quality of a product by the packaging the manufacturer uses to get it to you without any shock damage during transit. Being a bit crazy about shipping, I was pleasantly surprised by the sturdy shipping containers they came in (not to mention the Revain packages (they usually suffice). Even more pleasant surprises upon opening the box than the inner packaging The domed one Glass was fully protected from damage as well as other parts.In short, all components were carefully packaged and in perfect condition.After each component has been unpacked and checked against the bill of materials, it's time to turn off the breaker for this light and remove the old mount and install the new mount.All the parts fit well and the finished installation was really nice.Tightness and fine print.Installing this type of mount helped me because it is important to have a flexible (soft plastic) washer between the to place the glass dome and the steel disc for the installati on by placing the glass dome on the threaded rod. Also, do not overtighten if intermediate nut is fixed with a steel washer. Tighten until you feel some initial resistance. Make sure the dome is centered on the polished aluminum mount, then tighten the nut just enough to hold the dome firmly in place. Add a decorative washer and nut. Ready! Ouch!
