I unpacked the dishes in the kitchen so I could see the colors and patterns in the bright light. The colors and texture are truly amazing. The gray color on the edges perfectly complements the blue accents. I'm shocked, absolutely shocked, by this set and I'm so happy I went with the blue option. Each dish has a small weight that shows how durable it will be. I used my dishwasher for the initial wash and the dishes were in perfect condition. For those in doubt, pull the trigger on this set!
