Great addressable LEDs but low density per meter

These are excellent addressable LEDs that work very well with the Arduino FastLED library. They are cheaper than some other addressable LED strips because the LED density is only 30 per meter. However, if you have a project that doesn't require high density LEDs, this tape will save you a few bucks. For example I used them in a 3D printed drone gate that diffuses the light from each LED and just thought it looked great. In terms of usability, this is an ordinary LED strip. There are solder points with 5V power, ground and your data line. A good connector is included that offers both a plug and bare wires for power and ground. You can use jumper cables to connect it directly to a breadboard for quick prototyping. There was no problem getting this strip to work using the Arduino FastLED library. No doubt you can hook it up to a Raspberry Pi or any other board and get the same good results. Why do you need an LED strip with fewer LEDs per meter? At full brightness and full white, these LEDs can draw up to 60mA per LED, allowing you to save on power consumption by using a less dense strip. Running these lights off a battery gives you a lot more run time. Overall, I recommend them for low-power work. If you want the look, a thicker strip is better, but this strip is good value for money and comfortable to use.
