The first impression is good. All the details feel well made and the slide hammer feels good in the hand. The die-cast body is well made and can clearly hold this instrument. I say that because heavy instruments like this sometimes come in thin cases. Here things are different. Also, the insert size ranges are molded into the body and are easy to read. So once you know the size of the item you want to remove, it's easy to choose the right insert for the job. I add some lube to the wedge part of the tool, which causes the tool to expand and grip the part you want to remove. This made it much easier to clamp the tool in the blind bearing (in my case we removed the bearings) and significantly reduced wear on the tool itself. Overall, this is a quality tool at a reasonable price.
