Just jump into the water. The thermostat has no range. Either very hot or very cold. When the heater is turned off, the vibrations stop. I needed it to heat a specific room for a very specific reason. I can't just let the fan blow in one spot. The bottom does not respond to your touch. I mean, this is one of the shittiest items I've bought in a long time. Are you looking for something with simple knobs/buttons, here's my suggestion. It just didn't make sense. Much luck!
