Review on Get Ready For Adventure With Step2'S Red All Around Canopy Wagon by Chuck Derrick

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Did lots of searching.the Step2 is OK

I spent months looking for the right wagon at the right price for my 18 month and 3 year old to share. I settled on this one because it had a door (that my 18 month old would love), good size and a canopy.PROS:-good size for 2 different 3 year olds of average size or larger-wheels are quiet-exterior storage space, ample cup holders, etc.-seatbelts are sturdy-easy to put together (with some common sense skills and reading instructions, i did it while my husband was out of town.with a hammer, screwdriver and wrench in less than an hour)-when going down hill or at an angle, all wheels stay on the ground even with a weight difference on both sides. This is a major plus on the safety side as wagons go.-the door is nice if a child wants to "let themselves" in.CONS:-that darned canopy. seemed like a great idea at the time.but it doesn't say in the holes. at all. i think there is another wagon with a plastic fixed top. i might get that one instead.-the handle over extends (towards the wagon). meaning that if you come to an abrupt stop, the handle goes towards the wagon and away from you by sheer gravity.and it will smack the kid sitting there in the back of the head. i've done that at least 3 times on accident. i might return it for that reason alone.-the exterior storage space will fit your phone, wallet and keys. not much more.-the door is horrible to close.Overall, i like having this wagon. My son really likes opening and closing the door, more than he would like something with no door. But the pros for this wagon, exist in other wagons. I'm a little unsure of the amount of amazing reviews by everyone on this so far, especially because the canopy legs are crap and because of the handle. I will probably return it for the one i've seen with the fixed top. that was my second choice.

Pros
  • Smooth ride thanks to the wheels and suspension
Cons
  • The wagon's wheels are not ideal for use on sand or gravel surfaces
