Very bad quality, not recommended.

I would give this product zero stars if I could. I bought this tablet for my mom so she can skype with friends and family. After reading reviews about how responsive the tablet was, what a great 1080p video quality for video calls, and all the beautiful and wonderful marketing materials on the product page, I was hooked! Maybe the customer reviews, decent specs, low price, and marketing photos are overkill, but this is by far the worst tablet I've ever bought. The first thing I noticed right away was that the audio jack didn't match the plastic case due to poor build quality. To be clear, it wasn't broken, the outer case wasn't constructed properly and inserting a headset would have been difficult. The power and volume buttons were very wobbly, which also seems to be intentional, and I'm afraid they could break pretty easily. The touchscreen was very slow and hung for a few seconds during setup. The speakers are actually mounted on the back, making it difficult to hear video calls when the sound is drifting away from you. There was also a lot of hissing and crackling in the speakers when playing music at just 50% volume. During a test call using my computer on the same network, the video quality was very grainy and slow on both the tablet and the computer. Far from the advertised 1080p, more like 240p? All in all, this was a very bad tablet.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
