I bought two of these shelves for my home gym. Once mounted they are very stable and look great. Unfortunately one of the shelves was damaged. Rather than fumbling around with the return, I found the solution by re-gluing the broken piece of wood. Then mount that particular shelf on the wall where it will go unnoticed. The assembly was a little agonizing, only 17 parts. You might think that this is just putting the pieces together. However, it was not possible to hand screw each piece and install legs that mount directly to the wall. I had no other solution than to leave my legs a bit free. I later found that after mounting it on the wall, I could manually screw loose parts to the wall. This eliminated all of the game that existed prior to installation. Installation was pretty easy. Find the studs, mark the holes and screw them to the wall. I would recommend using a helping hand as the assembled shelf will be too heavy for you. The screws and anchors included in this kit are not suitable for the weight of these shelves. I ended up buying an improved anchor called the Molly Bolt. They are rated for +50 pounds which gives me the confidence to put anything I want on these shelves. Overall I would buy them again. However, you must consider the time required for assembly and installation. I would also buy extra anchors before installing and maybe some wood glue in case the shelves get damaged.
