old dried out looking couch!

for starters: in the ad,the couch was glossy(shiny), the water beaded and ran right off it. in real life, there was no gloss,no shine. it looked like it had been sitting in the sun, in the dessert, for 10 years! i went through 2 bottles of Armor all and two hours of elbow grease to give it some sheen. and the minute i got off of the couch, the spot that i was sitting on, lost 80% of it's luster, it's shine. i was so disappointed with it i really just wanted to return it ,but i just didn't want to go through the hassle of sending it back. then there is the problem of putting it together. it looked so simple. are you kidding me! i'm no mister handy man. but i did put together a stationary bike about 2 months ago. anyway, it was step 2 that got me. i read the instruction book over and over and over. it looked so simple. but i could not get it to go together. the rest of the instructions where simple,no problem. but step 2, oh boy, step 2. between the instructions in the book and in the 3 videos that i founded on line, i am sure i lost about 3 hours of my life. i thought about trying handy men, until they said " $350". why would i pay someone $350 to put together a couch that cost me $378? where is the sense in that? fortunately i had a flash of intuition that told me how to solve the problem. i did some thing that i didn't find in the instruction book or in the instruction videos. it worked! what happened to the handy men who would put things together for $20 or $30 bucks. you know, like some retired guy who is looking to do any thing to keep busy. like your dad or uncle or your next door neighbor. hell, theywould build you a bionic arm for a 6 pack and $25.
