Stable for unstable.
Very stable when used as intended. Instead of a flat surface, I install it in the car somewhere near the dashboard and hang it at an angle. I noticed that my installed tablet fell off a bit when I hit a bump. However, this can be remedied by placing a rubber sheet between the hinge ball. Now I can safely control my tablet while watching movies and playing Angry Birds.
