This works just as well as the OEM antennas sold with receivers these days, but the 54 inch cable was absolutely necessary to make my media cabinet setup work, which I recently installed Bought 2 amps, one Pioneer and one Onkyo, and both have similar AM antennas but WITH 30" cables. WHAT DO YOU THINK? If you don't mount the antenna directly above the amplifier, the standard cables are useless.
