I just can't love this thing.

I had it for about 2 months. I wanted something like this to free up space on my desk and give me more flexibility. The stands that my monitors came with could not be adjusted in height or switched between horizontal and vertical positions. It looked good enough. I was deeply mistaken. When I first assembled the base, which was fairly easy, I was surprised by the very large base. I saw it in a picture but I think it scared me when I saw it up close. Picked it up and was quickly able to justify its size by feeling how heavy it was. It seemed reasonable to me. Setting up your monitors here was a nightmare. If they are on, you CANNOT safely adjust the altitude. Sincerely forget it. If you loosen the part surrounding the stand, your monitors will fall off VERY quickly. Yes, even if you do it slowly. The only solution is to physically hold both monitors with one hand while loosening/tightening the screw with the other hand. Seriously, don't try. Even if you have lightweight monitors, this is an extremely uncomfortable task that ends up being physically tiring. Especially if your table is against a wall. Remember this is for height adjustment only. I tried it once myself and waited for someone to help me try again. I asked her to hold the two monitors while I slowly loosened the backing, then lifted it up a bit and then held it while tightening it again. I thought since I "can" do it myself, my friend who is much stronger than me will have no problem with it. ESPECIALLY when I was the one loosening the screw. I was very wrong. I'm 5'4" and 100 pounds, so it's not a strength issue. This is extremely unexpected and inconvenient to maintain. The stand takes up a lot more space than you might think. Rearranging things to make room for to create everything I need in front of me. Nothing to use it for, just buy a spare and give it as a gift. Very disappointed.
