I personally like my games and videos to sound their best and this product makes that possible. If you plug non-amplified headphones into a regular headphone jack, the sound will be different. I bought a pair of Samson SR850 open back headphones and while they sound good, using this amp makes the playing steps clearer and the music more precise, so even someone who doesn't care about good sound will notice how amazing these are amplifier sounds. I have edifier speakers on my desk which are also connected to an amplifier which, although acting as a preamp in this case, still enhances the sound of my speaker and switches depending on whether headphones are connected. I highly recommend this product, it's a great alternative to any gaming headphone, paired with a separate mic will make your rig cheaper and BETTER than everyone else's.
