Review on High Speed USB-C UHS-II Card Reader Adapter for MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, Samsung S21 – Compatible with Micro SD, SDXC, and SDHC Cards by Bim Cook

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fast transfer speeds, but only one card at a time

This card reader is a compact and affordable way to get UHS-II performance on virtually any USB-C device. The claimed dual card support doesn't seem to work, but otherwise the reader does its job well. Your large photo/video transfers. Even when used with UHS-I cards, this reader delivers 2-3 MB/s faster than my old card reader, which is a nice bonus and gets close to the 100 MB/s limit of the UHS-I standard. itself is well built, with a strong yet lightweight metal body and 6-inch cable. SD cards slide smoothly and about two-thirds of the way into the slots, which aren't spring-loaded. There is no activity indicator on the reader, so you must "safely remove" the card before swiping it out. This reader is advertised as supporting two cards simultaneously, but I couldn't get it to work on either my PC or Android phone. The reader shows up as a single drive and only the first card inserted is recognized. I don't usually need to use two cards at once, so this isn't a huge issue for me, but it's certainly worth mentioning. , I'm happy with the data transfer speed of this card reader, but it would be nice to have a slightly longer cable and an activity indicator. . It's also disappointing that it doesn't support two cards simultaneously, as that's one of the reader's much-publicized features. All in all, this reader is good enough for a four-star rating, but hardly.
