Pros: The disc is very strong and light. He survived flights and impacts in his backpack and suitcase. It has a very strong metal frame around the disc. The Thunderbolt cable is just right for use with a MacBook Air. It's great for the price and I would buy it again anytime. The Bad: While it's a very good drive, and with Thunderbolt it's faster than USB 3.0 (as it should be), performance is hampered by the fact that the hard drive's speed is 5400 rpm, not the faster 7200 rpm drive RPM. I realize this would make it a lot more expensive, but it would be nice to get more of the performance benefits that Thunderbolt offers. Finally, and this is very minor, the texture of the top of the drive makes it very susceptible to dust accumulation. I'm by no means a tidy freak, but I do like to keep my computer gear clean and dust-free. The disadvantages mentioned above are by no means intended to deter potential buyers, they are only the reason why I do not rate this device with 5 stars. I would definitely buy it again and am actually considering getting a second one.
