Review on LG 27MD5KB B UltraFine Thunderbolt Monitor, 68.58" with 5120X2880P Resolution, 60Hz Refresh Rate, Built-In Speakers, ‎27MD5KLB-B, IPS Panel by Zackery Barnett

I read many reviews about this product and I was very happy with the purchase because I thought I really bought the best product for the money and for my job as a video and film editor with my own color. I was pleased to learn that Apple also sold this monitor, that it was basically "approved" by Apple and that it had so many good reviews. Some reviews have mentioned that one of them can't calibrate the monitor properly like many other professional video monitors, but that's not necessary as it calibrates automatically and has specific picture profiles that you can use to your liking. So, despite my doubts about not being able to control the monitor's color calibration (with real buttons), I went for it. use (or download and try from other videographers). It's too rich and heavy in the reds so I have to guess while correcting the color and delivering the short to the distribution platform. After using both color spectrums and my eye (using this monitor as a "color accurate" monitor) I checked my video on an LG TV, iMac Pro, Macbook Pro and iPhone 11 and a Vizio and it looked very desaturated and green off /blue (meaning the saturation was too high on this monitor and the reds were also oversaturated, so I overcorrected to compensate by desaturating it and muting the reds enough to make them green/ turned blue). Basically, this monitor sucks if you're a bedroom colorist and rely on its accuracy. I had to colorize the film three times using only the scopes and not the monitor itself (and a bit of guesswork) to tell me what would look good on a variety of devices, rather than using my supposedly accurate color monitor to tell me to show the true picture. The level of detail is insane, it's so beautiful and accurate and the image detail is so good. I also really like the design, I like that it can be raised and lowered and I like the matte screen. There are many things to like. Unfortunately, the most important thing for me was completely wrong. So I can't give more than 3 stars. I have requested a refund from the seller and I hope they hear my concerns. The monitor just isn't exactly represented in the description and color issues are a big problem for videographers and photographers. If you are a gamer or anyone else this is a great monitor and you should definitely get one!
