Persistent problems in my rating

USB-C ports are always disabled, and the only way to get them back is to turn off the entire monitor (well done geniuses, there wasn't even a power button).

I bought a used monitor, but it came with a Thunderbolt cable.

Bought a used monitor but the Thunderbolt cable was missing, had to pay Apple 50 to buy an extra monitor cable, hope LG reads this and refunds.

Fragile technology

I bought two of these 5k LG monitors. One of them stopped working and LG charged me around $300 to fix it. When it stopped working the second time, LG refused to fix it and referred me to local providers instead. One of the local sellers said he had a number of issues repairing LG monitors and he didn't want to try to fix mine. The other provider has not yet reported. LG makes great refrigerators. They make fragile monitors.

Poor build quality is the best in my rating

Only one video input, and the USB-C/Thunderbolt port came out with a plug when I unplugged it about the 10th time. With only one input option, the monitor was unusable. This happened 2 months after the warranty expired as others have pointed out. This ultra-expensive monitor won't last long. I have Apple Cinema Monitors that are still working after more than 6 years. Very disappointed!

Bullshit for the price unless you like yellow screens.

This almost $2,000 monitor is rubbish! It looks like a discarded 70's Darth Vader design with that huge frame all around. The best 5K monitor for Mac

I bought this monitor to pair with my iMac Pro and now my 2018 Mac mini. The monitor is excellent. While the iMac Pro 5K Retina display still unchallengedly wins the race in every detail of picture and sound, this LG 27MD5KA-B or 27MD5KB-B is the only monitor available that comes close to the iMac's own 5K display. Compatible with IMAC 27 inch 5K Retina

I am writing this review for a 27" LG 5K Retina display after 3 years of use. I needed a second monitor for IMAC with a diagonal of 27". iMac has a Retina 5K display and this monitor complements it perfectly.
