The only choice for Mac

This monitor is extremely niche, to say the least. Paired with macOS this monitor does its job well as it has a beautiful 5K display with very good colors and of course it supports Retina mode. However, there are many things that leave a lot to be desired. .Pro: The 5K resolution is best in class as there are no other comparable monitors. Colors are accurate and match MBP colors. The monitor can be very bright, which means it can be used in a variety of lighting conditions. - Built-in camera, microphone and speaker make this a one-stop solution that eliminates accessories. - Charges the MBP at full power. Cons: - Light sensor and True Tone don't work in clamshell mode. It also seems that the light sensor is not working. The connectors are in the middle of the monitor body and not closer to the base, which can make it difficult to connect. Only Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C are supported, so an external USB-A hub is required. and memory card reader. Older models have issues with image retention and shielding, so be sure to purchase a newer model. - Too expensive! Overall I have a hard time recommending this monitor as it works best with macOS and has poor integration with Windows. It's also very expensive, which is understandable considering it's the only 5K monitor on the market. If you can afford this monitor and can use macOS and Windows through Bootcamp, this monitor is excellent. However, if you're using an older Mac or mostly Windows, there are plenty of great 4K monitors out there that could be a lot better.

Pros
  • Purchased to run SolidWorks. The screen is bright and has a very good resolution. Very good price
Cons
  • Mostly ok but...
