My 3 year old plays with this very well. However, they are not made of wood! There are cars, but no stackable "blocks". I should have looked at the reviews and the full description. It says 2+ but I disagree. 2 year olds still chew and put things in their mouths. Here's what happened to mine. We received them on Monday and they were ruined on Wednesday. Personally, I think cardboard toys are useless. they don't last. Why make stacking blocks out of cardboard?! Stacking is a development level for 1-3. Parents need these toys to last. Do not buy these for your younger children. Just grab the emergency car pack and avoid the cardboard blocks. I love Melissa and Doug but they really let me down. I take their stuff for durability. These are not durable.
