My 3 year old plays with this very well. However, they are not made of wood! There are cars, but no stackable "blocks". I should have looked at the reviews and the full description. My almost 2 year old loves this set. He plays with it every day. It's been a week and a half. He had never played with a toy for so long before. Pros: Spotting colors and numbers is fun - he was very eloquent at naming colors wherever he saw them! Good solid wood vehicles. They even roll easily on carpets. My fault for not reading the reviews on this set. I usually read reviews on ALL before I buy, but this time I didn't because I relied on the RELIABLE name of Melissa & Doug. I will NOT make this MISTAKE again. First of all, the buildings are made of CARDBOARD. and one building arrived damaged. So if they can't handle DELIVERY in a SEALED box, they WILL NOT handle adventurous KIDS playing with it.
