Review on ๐Ÿ’พ Inateck 2.5 to 3.5 SSD Mounting Bracket with SATA Cable and Power Splitter Cable - ST1002S by Carrie Williams

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The new version has been greatly improved.

I bought a newer version with separate side rails. I just needed to install an SSD and it was very easy. It's actually very well assembled and sits very low on the main compartment so I didn't even have to use the side rails, but it would be nice to have them if I decide to add another SSD. All screw holes line up perfectly with the SSD and 3.5" drive bay. This version is an improvement over the original version with mounting holes on the main compartment perfectly aligned with the SSD and a recessed cutout. which allows SATA cables to fit nicely (I used a straight SATA data cable but I think the notch allows the cable to be used at a right angle if needed). I've used the original version on another PC and it worked fine, but I was fortunate to have a removable drive tray that allowed access to cables and relatively easy screw mounting. I had a good long screwdriver with a good grip to keep the screws secure The adapter to the drive bay went in nice and neat. If I had to use the small screwdriver that came with the adapter, would that be difficult? The only minor complaint I have with this new version are the screws. The ones holding the adapter in the drive bay will actually start to "undress", so don't apply too much force to them! Contrary to some complaints mentioned in other reviews about the adapter shell being tapped or tapped, the screws in the new version were actually TOO easy to install! Otherwise I am very satisfied with the SSD adapter.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Weak kit
