My research lab needed a postal scale suitable for weighing chemicals to get the right proportions, so I was looking for a scale that was repeatable to within 1 gram but capable of going to within 1 kg to weigh. Hengji scales are very easy to use and have better repeatability than 0.1g (they seem to show weight quite accurately, accurate to 0.01g). This is a Chinese scale made by Shanghai Hengjng Balance Instrument Co. The buttons allow you to switch between the units oz, kg, % and lb, among other things, and there is a tare function which works well. The scale is supplied with a 500g test weight for scale calibration. The output also reports when the scale has reached a stable weight and when the indoor unit is charged. The tray is quite large (slightly larger than a slice of sandwich bread) and is placed in a cap to reduce the effect of stray air currents. There are also height adjustable feet to level the unit. In short, a great deal for less than $100.
