Bought these for summer trips, wanted something lighter and more breathable. They are superb and the lacing grips and holds the shoes on the foot just as securely as traditional laces. After a hole or two I tense them up a bit and give them time to warm up a bit. The steps on the bottom hold up well, I usually look for what looks like spikes and they're more like ridges. So far I haven't felt any difference after 6 laps, there hasn't been any slippage when swaying, and the course I'm playing is very hilly - so far the grip is great up and down, even where there are leaves and loose debris. The first Puma shoes I ever had were mostly the Footjoy Nike or Adidas which fit my foot. They are excellent - I'm what I would call a standard 12 foot size, not too wide and not too narrow anywhere in between. I have an average weight/compression in my shoes (6ft 2in, 180) and don't know how they hold up if you're taller and maybe a little stiffer with your shoes. Perhaps you are looking for a review from a larger person.
