Noise canceling headphones Sony Mdrnc22/Blk

Noise canceling headphones Sony Mdrnc22 work very well. I've used them on several flights now. They almost completely block the noise of the aircraft engine. They cut out the high frequencies a bit (people talking, babies crying, etc.), but not so much that you can't hear a flight attendant asking you a question, for example. I also use this headset at the gym. It eliminates the low-frequency hum that some exercise machines like treadmills produce. This product is an in-ear headphone. It comes with three different sizes of rubber inserts to accommodate different ear canal sizes. It is important to choose the earmold that fits snugly in the ear canals. Noise-cancelling performance is reduced when outside noise around the headphones is able to enter the ear canals. I particularly like the very small size of this device. It fits easily in my shirt pocket. I also have old full-size noise canceling headphones. I don't like them because they're bulky and my ears hurt if I wear them for several hours (e.g. on a cross-country flight). In my opinion, in-ear headphones are much more comfortable. I can listen to audio sources at very low volume and still have high quality stereo sound. Even after a six-hour non-stop flight, I have no complaints in my ears. A very slight hiss of white noise can be heard in these headphones. It may bother some people, but not for me. It's very low and I actually find it calming. I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 because it has a somewhat flimsy spring clip that you use to attach your headphones to your shirt. I exchanged the first device I bought because the clip broke after a few uses. Without the clip there is nothing to hold the weight of the small battery/electronics box from the cable to the headphones and they will be pulled out of your ears. I hope to have better luck with the second pair.
