Good quality for the price

These headphones are good quality for the price. The quality is not greatly reduced when the noise reduction feature is turned on. I can still hear outside noise, but when I listen to an audio book through headphones, I don't really hear the outside noise and still lulls me to sleep at night. Yes, it's not as good as Boise, but who can afford Boise? When I'm not using the noise canceling feature, the music quality is excellent. There's some ambient noise with the noise-canceling feature, but…

I finally slept on the plane!

I bought these for a trip to Europe hoping they would reduce the aircraft noise enough for me to get some light sleeper sleep on the plane. Watching movies with noise reduction turned on was great. I didn't have to turn the volume up very loud to hear the dialogue. When the iPod is off and the noise cancellation has been greatly reduced, don't expect it to be eliminated unless you're wearing hearing protection! But it was enough to block what I needed. I even noticed that when they asked me…

Works better than expected

I bought these to wear to work on a very noisy tractor. The audio range they cancel is designed to roughly match engine noise, and it works very well at those frequencies. The engine noise is almost gone and I can hear the iPod perfectly at a reasonable volume. The headphones fit well and are comfortable. It's better than the more traditional earbuds I've tried: they won't interfere with a pair of sunglasses or a hat, and they stay in place. The cable runs on the left side, which can be…

ok ok ok - Headphones

Revain should find a way to link the reviews/ratings for the different versions of this device (black, white, pink) rather than forcing us to look them up individually. .Good size; as it is not bulky like in-ear headphones and the electronics capsule is small. Good value for money; since you most likely won't have to pay for something you don't need to use very often. Good performance; because it blocks general noise levels almost as well as most earplugs and reduces annoying low-level…

Low quality and overpriced

This is one of the first times I feel the need to comment on a product. save your money I bought a refurbished pair, redeemed the $25 coupon and still feel cheated. If I paid full price I would get angry and bother returning the Sony NC headphones. The design is acceptable for cheap headphones, but there is almost no electronic noise cancellation. What you hear is an annoying and loud hiss. When the earbuds are firmly inserted into the ears, there is some NC effect, but the noise is unbearable.

  • Connectivity: Wired

  • Not bad

Noise canceling headphones Sony Mdrnc22/Blk

Noise canceling headphones Sony Mdrnc22 work very well. I've used them on several flights now. They almost completely block the noise of the aircraft engine. They cut out the high frequencies a bit (people talking, babies crying, etc.), but not so much that you can't hear a flight attendant asking you a question, for example. I also use this headset at the gym. It eliminates the low-frequency hum that some exercise machines like treadmills produce. This product is an in-ear headphone. It comes…

Much better than expected

I need a pair of NC headphones for some long flights to Europe. I almost bought another brand which was very cheap $19.95 but I chose the Sony 22 because at least the battery life would be better than the cheap ones. Also, I figured I'd return them if they sounded really bad. From other reviews here I wasn't expecting great performance unless I use it in NC mode but I was pleasantly surprised. Without NC activation, they sound almost as good as the headphones that came with the Sony MP3 player…

Best Value In Ear Headphones

I've had these headphones for about 4 months now and still use them daily. Yes, there is a slight "hiss" when you first turn on the noise canceling, but this hiss is only noticeable when you're not listening to anything (e.g. music). The noise cancellation itself works like a miracle. I almost missed my flight at the airport because I didn't hear the boarding call. And then on the plane, I almost missed my chance for a drink because I didn't hear the flight attendant. They are equally good at…
