Review on ViewSonic VG2448: The Ergonomic DisplayPort Monitor with Anti-Glare and Widescreen IPS Technology. by Quentin Kielholz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Really great monitor.

Viewsonic CRTs used to be the best money could buy. This is the first time I have bought a ViewSonic since they switched to LCD and I was not disappointed. I decided to give them another try after seeing them used in speed events like the GDQ and hearing some runners talk about how good they are. I bought this as a second monitor for work so I could have a vertical monitor next to mine. normal monitor. Despite its 1080p resolution, the colors and image quality are so good that my other two monitors look like crap next to them, no kidding. Despite its small size and low resolution, this thing has absolutely amazing picture quality. In fact, I had to turn down some of the settings to make them blend in better as the higher quality compared to my other monitors was distracting. If I buy this I'm dying to replace my main monitor with a 4k Viewsonic, even this smaller 1080p monitor is already putting my gargantuan 4k monitor to shame. I can't imagine how much better the 4k version would be. Viewsonic used to be known for making exceptionally high quality CRT monitors and I'm happy to see that they still make the best monitors money can buy. After purchase, next time I replace my primary monitor it will be the ViewSonic. If, like me, you're looking for a small, simple second monitor, this thing is amazing. You really should see the picture quality and color on this thing, it's unrealistic. But if you're looking for a main monitor, I definitely recommend going with the larger 4k Viewsonic. That's what I want to achieve for my main monitor after seeing how good it is. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Arrived quickly and was in brand new condition in a plain brown box.
Cons
  • I get 60Hz on Mac or PC. Regardless of port or cable type. It's okay.
