Review on 🩳 Columbia Men's Permit II Shorts by Stephen Good

Good hiking shorts

I know they're in the Columbia fishing line but these are great hiking shorts. I walk about 10 miles a day and wanted a pair of lightweight, quick drying tech shorts that aren't too long so I bought the 6 inch version. (Long 9- or 10-inch shorts are really uncomfortable when walking long distances.) Most of the time I'm more comfortable in denim shorts, but they get wet with sweat when I walk and take a long time to dry. This is exactly what I was looking for. They are light and comfortable, do not impede the movement of the legs. I love the phone pocket on the right side which is the perfect size for my iPhone. Putting your phone in a regular front pocket will make your leg wobble, but this pocket is perfectly positioned to keep your phone snug and higher on your hip without restricting movement. The fabric feels pretty standard, like nylon - nothing special - but it does what I need it to, dries quickly. If I walk in a light rain they will dry out again by the end of the walk. They also dry quickly when sweaty. Overall I am very happy with these shorts. I still prefer denim shorts for everyday wear, but they are perfect for my workout.
