A solution I never knew I always needed!

Our new home has no lights in the stairway or upstairs lobby. Not sure why. The house was built in 1920, and they probably wouldn't have thought that they would have to see every night before bed. Maybe they had oil lamps that they took to bed with them every night. However, as you can imagine, this has presented us with problems. We don't have oil lamps. Instead, we've made it a habit to turn on our cell phone flashlights every night before turning off the living room lights to avoid falling down the stairs and getting killed (or badly injured). Even the dog waits for us to turn on our flashlights before attempting to wander in the darkness of the unknown. My brother and his wife recently arrived for the weekend and witnessed our nightly bedtime ritual. I was a little confused by all of this. But my brother is pragmatic. He solves problems. So they bought us a set of these lights for Christmas. The only problem is that there are two bulbs but only one switch. So while we could turn on the light at the bottom of the stairs, we couldn't turn it off once we got to the top. My brother, in his infinite wisdom, advised me to consider buying a matching set and see if they would communicate. To my delight, I read in these reviews that the second set will work with the first. While this may be annoying to some, for us it has been a real blessing. I installed all four lights to illuminate the stairs and foyer above, a switch at the base of the stairs and a switch by our bedroom door in the corner. Above. Voila! Let there be light! Now we can see where we're going with minimal effort. This is a wonderful thing! I honestly haven't been this excited about something in a long time. (Maybe I need to go out more.) Bottom line: if you need light where there isn't, buy it. If you need two switches to make your life easier, buy two!
