Find out the right memory configuration before you buy it for an old machine.

I bought memory from A-Tech for my aging iMac (2010). I was first told that my machine could hold 16G, but had no idea that each of the four slots could only handle 4G each. I bought memory in two 8G cards and found the memory not working. There was a paper card with the memory that came with a message and a phone number to remind me to call them if I had trouble installing or something. I called A-Tech Support and explained the problem. Jason (Tech Support) looked at my iMac's serial number to determine the correct memory configuration and told me that my device requires four 4G cards, not two 8G cards. That was very helpful information and Jason told me he would replace the storage with what my device needed (four 4G cards). He also sent a prepaid return envelope to return the storage my device couldn't use. When the memory arrived about a day later, I installed it with no problems and am now enjoying 16G on my old computer. Wonderful service from a great company. I would give them ten stars if I could. :-)
