Finally installed an outdoor antenna a few days ago and here is my updated review. Installing the mast was pretty easy if you have the right tools for it. I decided to install it about 20 feet off the ground on the side of my house. I ended up using my masonry bit to drill holes in the plaster, inserted plastic anchor bolts and used a torque wrench to secure the bolts. adjust up/down. I would like, to make the rod a little longer. Attaching the antenna unit itself to the rack is not difficult. Just be sure to secure both the knobs and your TV. I also made sure there was enough cable to allow the device to rotate as it is a rotatable antenna. I used a splitter so I can connect multiple TVs. So far, on all three TVs connected to the antenna, I see all local channels, as well as other channels in HD quality. Recommendations: If this is going to be a DIY project, I highly recommend grounding the antenna. To do this, I bought the following from Revain: a copper ground wire and a coaxial ground block. It will cost you around $20 but worth it in case of a power surge or lightning strike. You can find many short videos or guides on the internet. Another item I ended up buying was a coax wire stripping tool and crimping kit (Cost me about $15 at Revain). I've noticed that some of my coax cables are missing connectors. All in all I spent about $100 on everything. Was it worth it? I think so. That's definitely a lot less than what I would pay the cable company for the channels I normally watch. Now I can watch my favorite local news, prime time shows, late night shows and even cultural documentaries/shows that interest me. I leave my preview below. This is a preview. (1) Packaging - Items have been properly packaged. There are no missing or broken items. (2) Assembling the Device - Some assembly is required but simple. The instructions were easy. The included long coaxial cable was a plus for me. (3) Good quality - the antenna unit itself is made of plastic and aluminum. It feels solid and with a metal pole and wall mount I think it should be able to withstand strong winds. Not sure yet if it will last long enough when exposed to sunlight. (3) Preliminary Test - Before I start installing the antenna outdoors, I place the assembled unit on a table indoors to see if it works. At the moment I can receive at least 5 channels which are crystal clear and free from interference. As soon as the rain stops I will start mounting the device on the roof and give another review. By then I hope to have clearer channels. I will also post my review of the device rotation feature. I put the assembled block on the table in the room to see if it works.
