Perfect compression fit for surfing and big wave riding

I have 3 of these that I wear year round every time I get in the water for a water sport. The fabric is a thin, durable synthetic material that is ideal for wearing in the water at any temperature, either alone or under neoprene. I wear it kayaking, scuba diving and bodyboarding. ABOUT THE SIZES: Actually, they fit the purpose of the design. They are designed to protect the skin while surfing. If you surf a surfboard or boogie board, or surf big waves, your surf shirt should fit snugly to avoid rashes on your upper body. I'm 5ft 2in and 115lbs. I wear Small or Extra Small for surfing. Unless you're wearing a tight-fitting synthetic shirt like this, the strong ocean waves will push the shirt up your torso and expose your skin, causing abrasions from the waves hitting the board. HOWEVER, I also have this medium sized rashguard that I wear under my life jacket when kayaking - with or without a neoprene layer over this rashguard for warmth. When kayaking, my PFD and splash skirt keep the shirt from riding up when I swim, so the shirt should be non-compressible. And when I remove the life jacket and spray skirt the size medium is still snug but not so snug that every bit of cellulite is visible as another reviewer mentioned, this happens when I wear the "right" size. Next to neoprene, it is the best material for water sports. So if you're wearing this for everyday watersports, order 2 sizes up for comfort as many other reviewers have suggested as you can't find a better fabric. However, if you wear it in waves, stick to the manufacturer's size chart.
