Would a glue stick help?
I like to keep our toothbrushes separate and covered. These cases breathe well so brushes dry and the opening/closing mechanism is light and smooth. These features are great but also useless as the main feature doesn't work. They don't stick. I cleaned the glass, wiped the suction cups, glued it to the mirror. They fell. I've tried all the little tricks: wet cups, dry cups, head towels. They don't stick. Which makes them pretty much useless and just more plastic going to landfill.
