Let me clarify as it has taken me a while to get used to this. Yes I broke the first 3 clues I used. BUT it was because I started too slowly. some tips to extend the life of the cutting edges. 1) Surface preparation, sanding or sanding to the highest possible level - this really applies to heavily rusted and pitted parts. 2) Make a good sharp center punch and leave a good spot for the tip of the tool 3) LUB IT! I used coolant and drill wax separately, both worked well and 4) finally lighter. I set the drill to full throttle and it slowly hit the surface with the spring-loaded center point and bounced until the cut was made. The trail is well established then you can actually tumble into it. but be careful, it cuts FAST.
