I've used this twice to tape walls with 1980's wallpaper that can't be completely removed to a clean new wall. After removing all the wallpaper I could I primed it with an oil based primer (2 coats) and then applied it, it gives a nice textured finish. Then I apply two coats of paint on top to finish. That's great. But it has a REALLY strong smell that makes my eyes sting. The smell is not as strong as an oil based primer but strong. Even with the windows open and a fan blowing, it's pretty intense, but worth it. I seal the area I'm applying, wait a week or two for the smell to wear off, then go back and apply the final coat of color over that texture. You may not have the time or opportunity to do it this way, but I love doing it. Again, great stuff, but be prepared for a very strong, intense smell.
