When the flag on my ancient sidewalk mailbox broke, I was glad to find this simple replacement. I'm ashamed to say I pocketed it wrong so it was sticking out into the street when the flag was taken down. I ended up ripping it off to turn it off - and it took me so much effort! Lehm was very impressed. In fact, trying to peel it off, I cut the sticky part so badly that I had to buy another flag. But now my new flag is flat on the side of the mailbox as intended when I don't want to alert my postman. Anyway, the point is that I found the glue sticker to be really strong and effective. Expect this to last for years.
