Review on Laiduoao Lumen Portable Projector Entertainment by Brian Mendoza

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Tiny big screen projector - great quality, long battery life and lots of connectivity!

As COVID-19 has disrupted our social life for the past 9 months, it has been very easy to get people together in front of the TV, even for small groups of 4-6 people. This projector has made outdoor viewing (and therefore social distancing) much easier. In fact, a white sheet or a pristine wall and you're in for a great viewing experience. -Pros-+Size - About the same size as my Samsung Galaxy S10 but slightly thicker. Maybe like a 20,000 mAh power bank. It's easy to carry and fits (unwieldy) in most men's clothing pockets. Women's bags probably won't fit, but it fits easily in a purse. + battery. This little suction cup can easily run about 3-4 hours on a single charge depending on your connection mode. The battery also holds a charge well so you can throw it in your backpack and have 90% battery in 3 weeks. This thing can connect to literally anything - Airplay for Apple devices, EZ Share for Android Smart View and Windows 10 connections, Google Play Store for apps like Youtube and Netflix, network sharing for Chromecasting or Wi-Fi streaming, and HDMI connection for everything else . . In addition, you can connect hard drives or SD cards to eject media from them. To be honest I haven't found a device yet that doesn't somehow connect to it. + Brightness - no need to shade your windows or play in your closet, this works great in medium light conditions (see my photo, noon). in a room with 2 large windows with lattice shutters).+ Android. Although it has a shell at the top, it runs a full-featured version of Android, so it can do anything Android can do. This is great, especially for the wide variety of games/apps you can install. Cons - Buttons on device - they don't feel very responsive, but that might just be because they're touch buttons to look at. When using and hte the action happens on screen away. Not that important because of the included remote control. The proprietary power connector doesn't bother either, but I don't understand why it was impossible to use USB-C or even Micro-USB for charging. The fact that the power connector is a proprietary format only reduces portability, as you'll need to carry your charger around for long periods of time. Sound. The speaker on this device isn't great, but that's no surprise since it's so small. Using a wired or Bluetooth speaker negates this, and the projector has a very handy 3.5" audio jack (more devices need it! It's really useful!). All cons are very picky, so take them very lightly. Happy with this projector and looking forward to the upcoming holidays and family use. Nothing says "my kids are better" than projecting your slideshow of them onto your Thanksgiving dinner table.
