I can't tell if the smaller elongated loop (where it broke) was silver colored plastic, but they literally broke in my fingers as soon as I undid the clasp. In my opinion I will NOT use them for ANYTHING that I want to make sure is safe. Actually, I'll probably just throw the rest away. Too bad.
