I regularly buy Velcro One Wrap Brand at major stores in packs of five for $0.70 per tie or $3.50 per pack. When I saw the same brand at Revain for $0.08 a tie, I was a happy mechanic. On arrival it is clear that it is not the same product. The band itself is much less thick and not as "stubborn". As you know, Velcro is Velcro, and the "loop" part (the side that appears fuzzy) in this product is extremely thin. I assumed the "thin band" in the name was referring to the width of the tie, but it's the thickness. So they're still closing, but they're just not that reliable. I'll keep these thin straps because of the cheap price, but I'll still stock up on the heavy-duty version from the hardware store. hard work. The photos below show a supplied Revain product, a product from a hardware store and photos of two strap variations. Sorry, it's hard to see in the photo - it's very visible when you hold it in your hands. Pros: β’ Great price! (4 rolls of 25 8β ties per roll) β’ Hook and loop closure with easy cord attachment system β’ Pre-cut rolls are easy to tear off β’ Ability to double the length of the tie, leaving multiple ties "unbrokenβ β’ Waterproof for outdoor use. Disadvantages: β’ Thinner and lighter than Velcro you usually see. β’ Easier to tear/break.
