Beautifully written, designed and illustrated, this book gave me exactly the introduction to Kumihimo I was looking for. To me it is comparable in quality and usefulness to Carol Wilcox Wells' 1998 book Creative Beading as a guide to starting a new crafting discipline. Another advanced weaver/reviewer noted that this may primarily appeal to bead artists looking to incorporate kumihimo into their bead work; I'm one of those and it definitely works for me. I'm not particularly interested in copying other people's designs and projects (that's one of the reasons I don't like bead tutorials and sets). But just by reading and studying Rebecca Combs' book Designs and Instructions, I was able to gather the information and confidence I needed to play with my own combinations of beads and fibers on a braided disc.
