Review on 🩺 FUTURO Compression Stabilizing Breathable Medium MMM 349 by Albert Tucker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good support for a sprained wrist, if a little small

I bought these just over 2 years ago when I had what I now believe to be the best an arthritis virus causes - similar joint pain relieved at least partially by the use of orthotics/braces on the affected joints. I was underweight at the time (considering I'm an average female of 5ft 5" and barely 100lbs) so there was no question of which size to buy. He came and helped stabilize. my wrist, bringing some relief. I pulled it back out about a week ago after spraining my wrist and am happy with it so far. Thanks to the medication I've been on for several months, I've gained about 50 pounds lately. At two years old and weighing 150 pounds, I'm now at the high end of my healthy weight range. The light/medium weight still fits, although (unsurprisingly) it's significantly narrower than before. My wrist is now about 6.25 inches long. and my ankles are about 7 inches at their widest point. The brace is snug enough to leave seam marks on my wrist, but it's still comfortable and I didn't see (or feel) any signs of circulatory restriction in my fingers. I wear it while typing. I could wear as much as I wanted as it was mainly just for my comfort. I brought this brace to the emergency room and showed it to the nurse who said it was a good alternative. For the first few days I wore the thumb splint at night and this splint during the day as it allows almost full use of my fingers (I wear it while typing and can still type at any time of the day). at full speed; For almost 20 years since I was in high school, I could type fast enough, so the speed-limiting factor was knowing what letter I needed next - finding that letter is automatic and almost instantaneous, and the parenthesis gets in the way not at all, nor does it interfere with writing, drawing or painting). I don't wear this brace at night as it puts a little pressure on my arm and I am concerned about blood flow to my fingers at night as it is tight during the day although I know it's probably irrational (but I wake up often up with numbness in one arm or the other just because it even landed slightly over my heart for a while towards the end of the night, or put my head on it while I slept so I don't think it cost much would cut the blood flow to my hand while I sleep). For the first few nights I wore the splint given to me in the ER during the day and since then I have continued to wear it day and night. It helps protect my wrist from stresses that can aggravate it and it seems to help a lot and is quite comfortable. I came back to this site because I want to buy a second one so I can wash one and wear the other while it dries.

Pros
  • Arm, hand and finger support
Cons
  • So far so good
