If you really want to use this thing you have to start with this switch because that's what everything has to do for it to work. Everything should be HDMI, nothing else will do, I've found that. Be patient, this is 90's tech in the 2020's. Hook everything up as shown in a very poor guide. Turn on the monitors and wait a few minutes. Power on the KVM switch and wait a few minutes. Turn on your #1 computer and wait for that loud beep. Make sure everything is working, then turn on computer #2. It took me two tries to get it working properly. It's better than 4 monitors, although I feel like with all the adapters and cables I could buy 2 more monitors! To update; I found this little box to display random blue lines on my 32 inch Samsung monitor. I will return this item. Updated 11/20/20; I had to return it. turns off one monitor, then both. I start from this thing. updated 12/18/20. I've been using it for several months and still feel the same, I start it. Now when I switch from one computer to another, the keyboard and mouse don't work. What a PITA! money to the wind.
