When they arrived I was disappointed to see that the connection was USB and not a standard electrical plug. I was also disappointed to learn that they couldn't be related. As a result, I had to buy an extension cable with multiple USB ports and USB extension cords. After this problem was solved, I learned that remotes are very finicky - they have to match the receiver/plug exactly to work. However, I bought 8 of them and one remote works for all of them (doesn't disable them all at once, but at least I don't have to carry around 8 remotes). But there's also a high note - the lights are great and very easy to work with. It was really nice that even though they came with lots of zip ties, there is a 'hook' at the top of each string of lights. I've only had them for about 2 weeks so I can't say how long they can burn through.
