Review on ๐Ÿ”ฆ Rechargeable Battery Powered Dimmable Touch Light Bar - Stick on Anywhere Amber Reading Lamps for Bunk Bed, Wall Mount, Bedroom, Kids Night, Headboard Lamp by Valerie Perrien

Good enough for my use but probably not for kids

I use this vanity under my sink for late night trips to the bathroom. Good soft light for me. mmmm, carefully, without crashing into anything and without waking from the shock of a bright lamp overhead. Works great for this purpose. However, the included adhesive horizontal magnetic mount is too short to hold with a magnet if you force the on/off point; It wobbles out of its stand and risks falling and loosening the ill-fitting adhesive. I also wish it had a battery compartment as well as USB charging. I figured it might have softer lighting than my flashlight for power outage situations. Of course if the shutdown goes on for a while there is no way to charge it except for my laptop and I'm sure I'll need it for my phone and the laptop itself. I don't think this device is suitable for children. The aforementioned instability in a horizontal carry case is recoverable for an adult, but a child will fairly easily slide this thing out of the carry case and/or bracket from its fixed position. The magnet is ok but I think parents would like some sort of child proof closure. It's very light and round, so I think it's unlikely that you'll get injured, but nobody likes to have something fall on their head. The vertical stand has too small a base to withstand a child's careless movements unless glued to the surface. The dimmer disc doesn't have a hard stop, so it just spins and spins. I saw the kid break this pdq. As a reading lamp, the device's soft amber light might be good for reading black and white writing, but I think it washes out the color, so any book with color illustrations won't be very pleasant. To be honest, I haven't fully tested the battery life. - I don't leave it on all night, but it takes at least a few hours to charge. I like that it has a charge indicator that blinks until it's fully on. Nice gesture. Speaking of touch, the on/off switch is very sensitive, making it easier to handle. It's got nice lines - no sharp corners and it looks well built, except for the silly dimmer control. It once fell about 18 inches down a row of faucets/into a sink and survived without being scratched or broken. All in all a decent device for my use/in this price range.
