Review on Food Grade Level 5 Protection Cut Resistant Gloves By Dowellife - Kitchen Safety Gloves For Oyster Shucking, Fish Fillet Processing, Mandolin Slicing, Meat Cutting And Wood Carving, 1 Pair (Large) by Sam Lee

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Boyfriend recommended and Klutz approved! No more fingers in our carrot pile!

My boyfriend bought me these after I mangled my hand cutting carrots one day. I had my doubts. Could these silly little gloves actually withstand my klutziness? So like any rational human, I decided to put them on and start slicing and stabbing my hand to see if they work. (Isn't that what anyone would do?)So stabbing protection is 3 stars. It works really well, but some of my sharpest knives could get through. Luckily, stabbing is not something we do as often as.Slicing! These gloves get 5 starts for their slicing protection. The only exception is a thickly serrated knife, which.how do you managed to slice yourself dead on, slowly enough to catch the fibers of the fabric, while not realizing it in time to pick up the knife? Actually.I can see myself doing that by accident. I'm that clumsy. Either way, five stars. The gloves are seriously worth it. As for washing them, I typically wash them after each cooking session (which is a great reason to buy more than one pair!). Otherwise the smell of onion/garlic/bell pepper just lingers and I worry about sanitation. I use hot water -- hand wash or in the washer, and a mild soap. Then I let them air dry. It's really that simple!

Pros
  • Lightweight and ergonomic design prevents hand fatigue during prolonged use
Cons
  • They may not be suitable for use with certain types of fruits and vegetables
