I've looked at all the ones on the market. I also read google reviews to see which is better and what to look out for. As this was a new product and it came with a free cutter, peel and pens this definitely wasn't a problem for me. There were reports of ceramic stones breaking, which influenced my decision to use cordierite. The next important factor in the selection was the fact that this one had handles while the others had none or very few. I imagine trying to grab a pizza and a VERY hot rock doesn't have much room for hot pads so the handles are amazing. I set my oven to 500 for about 30 minutes so the stone heats up nicely while I bake the pizza. The pizza was ready in about 12 minutes and could have been sooner but I like mine very crispy. Use the cornmeal on the skin so it glides over the stone or it will stick! This was the first time I've made one from scratch and I couldn't be happier with this stone, handles, bowl and slicer!
