The speaker I received is defective. Something sounds wrong with the midrange or crossover. I'm sure the sound I'm getting isn't up to the standard that gave this Unifi series its name. Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the sound quality because my device is clearly defective. Some voices, mostly women and children, seem to distort the sound. At first I thought it was my banana plugs. I removed them and connected them directly to the speaker. It didn't stop him so I figured it might be the wire. I use 10 gauge but I changed his line and still no change. Then I figured I'd buy a cork and rubber-damped stand to eliminate any possibility of resonance or vibration from the case. The Sonus center speaker stand is excellent but still unresolved. I added a panamax power conditioner last night knowing it probably won't fix the problem. Still tried everything. The speaker still sounds terrible when playing a certain range of voices. Today I decided it's better to check, exchange or return it. A little problem. Didn't save the box. The return policy is to send back the defective unit (no problem) at your expense and if it is damaged it is not their fault. Since I no longer have any foam inserts to mount the speaker. Damage is almost certain. I'm pretty sure if I send it to them it will come back in even worse condition. My biggest disappointment is not being able to hear this speaker in all its glory as it is highly appreciated. I will most likely eat the $300 I spent on this speaker. In the future I am much more likely to buy from Best Buy or my local audio retailer as it is much easier to return defective equipment. I waited a long time to solve the problems. I have had the device for 2 months. I could return to Amazon in a month and should have. I didn't want to because I didn't have the box anymore.
