The original version of the C800 - an all-metal block with two circles on the front (one for the camera, one for the EXIR IR) - is an old model that is much better quality than the new one. The size of the mount is also completely different, so if you're replacing old cameras with new ones, the new model won't fit. You will only know if you look at all the pictures which says "A random unit will be sent - they are both the same". They are not the same, they may have similar characteristics, but they are not the same. The original C800 is a great camera. EDIT: The seller did everything right and sent the original camera.
