ANNKE Security Compression Weatherproof Outdoor Review

This camera has a RUGGED construction. I'm amazed at how well built it is. I connected it to my ANNKE system and it was recognized within seconds and the picture looks great.

After reading other reviews I bought this device thinking I could update the firmware and use it properly with my existing QVR. It's not relevant. Apparently the hardware has changed so any attempt to install the Hikvision firmware has failed. I can still use it via ONVIF but not all features are available

In 2020 I installed 6 models of Annke C800 turrets. All had a metal base, lid and flange. I bought another camera in March 2021 and the base, cover and flange were all plastic. For outdoor use I prefer metal parts. Otherwise, the cameras are reliable, the picture is high quality, etc. I recommend.

I ordered this camera in October 2020 and have decided to buy another one now in March 2021. This is a very different camera than the one I bought in October. The old one was metal, the new one was plastic and much smaller, the bases are not interchangeable. I prefer the metallic image. Very disappointed with the switch, there are better alternatives to cheap plastic cameras.

I have three of these installed under my roof. With a high-performance card, they serve as a high-performance NVR system. They are fantastic, especially for night vision. Can cover my entire front yard from the top of a two story house. The original version of the C800 - an all-metal block with two circles on the front (one for the camera, one for the EXIR IR) - is an old model that is much better quality than the new one. The first microphone I received was bad. The sound was muffled and of poor quality (I removed the plastic wrap). Video quality is good, but not as good as the Amcrest 4k cameras and nowhere as sharp as the 4k videos you see on YouTube. I ordered a replacement and hope the mic in this one is better. I bought this model to use with Synology NAS and Surveillance Station. The camera received good reviews from YT for image quality and night vision capabilities. The structure is not for beginners, as the instructions are sparse and poorly translated to the point of incomprehensibility. I'm sorry to report that my experience with Annke and the C800 was a total disappointment. I have serious hardware, software, and support issues. Your website got off to a bad start. The image quality is excellent. There's no face recognition or license plate reading, but none of the other cameras will do that (unless you spend big). I had some difficulties with the installation. The light should rotate in the mount, but it's too tight; almost impossible to set up. Had to pretend and tweak to get it working. I couldn't set up the camera with a web browser and a default IP address without first using the company's SADP software, which was a little disconcerting. Night vision
