The image quality is excellent. There's no face recognition or license plate reading, but none of the other cameras will do that (unless you spend big). I had some difficulties with the installation. The light should rotate in the mount, but it's too tight; almost impossible to set up. Had to pretend and tweak to get it working. I couldn't set up the camera with a web browser and a default IP address without first using the company's SADP software, which was a little disconcerting. Night vision lighting is almost useless. I set the camera 9 feet above the garage door and the beam of light didn't even reach the ground. If you want to see something at night, you need to buy an infrared emitter or a regular lamp with a motion sensor. All this to say that I would buy this camera again if I had to. It's definitely a no-frills camera, but it's made by HikVision and they have a pretty good reputation for quality. UPDATE I have now added 3 more of these cameras to my system, 2 bullet and 1 turret, plus a few more turret types. on order. This will update pretty much all my cameras. Well, I think I was a bit harsh on the C800 when talking about night vision. It is very good. IMPORTANT - IF YOU GO TO ANNKE'S WEBSITE NOW YOU WILL SEE THAT THEY HAVE ALL THEIR CAMERAS AT A 15% DISCOUNT. I ONLY BOUGHT MY TWO RECENT TURRET C800 CAMERAS FOR $85 EACH. This price is a little lower than I could find them elsewhere. I use the BlueIris software with all of these cameras. Good program and not expensive. Adding cameras is easy, although it can get a little tricky once you get started. The default settings usually work well, so don't worry about making changes that aren't fully understood. Backing up and restoring your camera is very easy. So always make a backup copy before making any changes. The setup is quite difficult for beginners. - Other than buying her cameras, I have no connection with Annke and have never contacted or contacted her.
